Crooke Charity Beer, Boat & Music Festival 2015
The name pretty much says it all, yes there was beer, yes there were boats and yes there was definitely music and to top it all there was over £2000 raised for Wigan & Leigh Hospice and The Stroke Association. This was our third year at the event and this year I decorated the boat with fairy lights and bunting along with our festival neighbour Devon on William's Wish and a couple of other boats. They even had a gluten free real ale on and so being a coeliac I had my first taste of some real beer (I liked it).
Mervyn in his Sunday best for the festival
There was a good turn out of boats
Morris Dancers entertained us on Saturday afternoon
Clogs with bells on
Men in flowery hats
Traditional music
Lots and lots of beer. The bar ran dry on Sunday but there was more in the pub (phew)
Ambush back from the dry dock in time for the weekend and looking good
Mind your fingers!
Some great local talent on Saturday afternoon
Kim & Co bringing Saturday night to a close
Sing song in the pub after the last band finished
Flat caps and guitars, what's not to like
Sunday saw open mike performers (the dog was good)
The Feckin Ejits entertained us with guest performer Ronnie singing the Irish Rover
Celia is a fantastic singer/songwriter and travels from the Lakes to attend
The Blues Brothers went down a storm
The festival finished with The Blackaways and they were really good and got everyone up dancing - think they will be back next year (and so will we!)
